Geely Holding will introduce Google Gemini, Google Maps and Google Play in overseas markets during the second half of 2027, according to its chief technology officer, Dr. Shen Yuan. The integration will let Geely vehicles download a range of apps, use Google's navigation system and respond to voice commands. Brands that will carry Google services include Geely, Lynk & Co, Riddara and Smart (a joint venture with Mercedes-Benz).
On October 16, Geely Holding Group officially announced a global partnership with Google. The automaker is reportedly developing a digital cockpit ecosystem, which will be rolled out across its passenger car brands in overseas markets where Google services are available. The first model featuring Google services will reach the global market in the second half of 2027, though its name has not yet been disclosed.
Geely Holding Group's CTO, Dr. Shen Yuan, explained that the deal gives the company a way to link its vehicles to an ecosystem drivers already rely on in their daily routines. He stressed that Google Gemini, Google Maps and Google Play are services people use every day. In Geely cars, these services will allow drivers to look up destinations, find nearby charging stations, run apps and handle other routine tasks.
“This partnership is not about putting more technology in front of the driver. It is to make the technology feel less demanding and more intuitive. A digital cockpit can become crowded very quickly. Features compete for attention, menus become deeper, a simple journey can require too many taps,” said Dr. Shen Yuan.
Earlier, Geely's premium brand Zeekr announced a partnership with AirConsole to bring cloud-based gaming to its vehicles. In April 2026, Zeekr officials also signed a cooperation agreement with 3 Screen Solutions (3SS), a digital entertainment solution provider, to build a media platform based on Android Automotive OS. As a result, Geely Holding Group is gradually adapting its cars for global markets. Notably, the company's portfolio includes the Geely, Geely Galaxy, Zeekr, Lynk & Co, Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Smart, Farizon, Proton, LEVC and Riddara brands.
